Animal sounds are a wonderful, low pressure way to model speech sounds. As you play with various animals, practice exclaiming their animal sounds (Moo! Baaah! Oink!). This can encourage imitation and help grow your little one’s speech sound inventory. Narrate what the animals are doing (Go cow! Eat pig! Jump sheep!). Work on following simple directions with location words (Put the cow on the tractor, Put the pig in the water).

Craft Ideas:
Recycle your extra cardboard boxes (thank you delivery!), paper towel rolls, and paper plates into animals for puppet shows, pretend play, and animal sound fun!

Trips & Travel Ideas:
Stop by the local farms and petting zoos to see the animals in action!
Locally, we love DeJong's Dairy and Sugarplum Zoo, but if you're open for a drive, the San Diego Safari Park in Escondido is always a great day trip!!
We can't wait to celebrate all the moments together,
